Inc., a privately held company specializing in niche applications for banknote validation, storage and recycling devices for use in gaming, amusement, vending, retail and transportation applications.
CashCode’s head office and main manufacturing operation is located in Concord, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1991, CashCode employs approximately 350 people worldwide serving the global marketplace. Both companies are already key suppliers to the global gaming market and this acquisition will enable even greater product innovation and global support.

RoHS Compliance UpdateAs you may know, RoHS, also known as Lead-Free, stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances.
RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC restricts the use of six hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products. This Directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from July 1st, 2006.
CashCode understands the environmental impact of this directive and has been working diligently to meet the RoHS compliance before the July 1st deadline to ensure that our products and components will comply.
In order to identify the RoHS compliant products from the earlier non-RoHS compliant products, CashCode will implement a new part numbering system.
North America Brokerage Fee Amendement
As you are aware, the exporting of Crane CashCode goods from Canada requires us to supply complete and proper documentation for goods entering into the USA. In addition, for all shipments valued at US $200 and greater, we must pay for the services of a Customs Broker if the shipping company does not already include this service. For the past several years, CashCode has been able to minimize the financial impact by:
- Keeping the same fee of US $25 despite the currency exchange rate deviations,
- Looking for alternate shipping methods which would allow us to avoid these charges (FEDEX is the only shipping company performing as its own Customs Broker and, thus, the brokerage fee is included into the total freight charge),
- Offering our Customers to ship “Collect” so that you are able to control these expenses from your side.
Recently, the Crane CashCode appointed Customs Broker has increased their service charge. As a result we have had to increase the payable fee by $10 to US $35. Please be advised that all shipments from Crane CashCode of US $200 and greater with prepaid freight charge from Canada addressed to any location in the United State of America and shipped by any courier other than FEDEX will be charged US $35 brokerage fee for the Customs Clearance provided by the Crane CashCode appointed Customs Broker – Trillium Customs Brokers Inc.
If this increase causes any changes in your shipping policy, please notify Crane CashCode your Account Manager immediately and/or and the Customer Service Department via fax (Fax # +1 905 417 2021) or e-mail (E-mail address:

). Otherwise any order entered by our Customer Service team from July 10 and onwards will contain additional charge of US $35.00 for the Brokerage Fee.
