CashCode Announces $5 USD Software Update

In anticipation of the introduction of the new U.S. $5 bill, which is scheduled to be put into circulation in March 2008, Crane Payment Solutions is pleased to announce software updates for all currently manufactured CashCode Bill Validators.

The new U.S. $5 bill will be significantly different from the existing U.S. $5 bill in terms of material composition, chromatic pattern and magnetic properties. Crane Payment Solutions is working with the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing and will be providing a firmware update for the CashCode products that will enable it to reliably validate the new U.S. $5 bill and reject counterfeits. All new shipments in the beginning of the New Year will contain this firmware upgrade.

Current products already in the field will be upgradeable with CashCode’s BlueChip smart memory stick.

Should you have any questions please contact your Crane Payment Solutions or CashCode representative, at 1-800-584-2633.

CRANE PAYMENT SOLUTIONS COMPANIES JOINTLY EXHIBIT AT MARKETECHNICS CashCode, Telequip Team Up to Present Breakthrough Bill Validation and Coin Dispensing Solutions Marketechnics Booth # 458

Toronto, ON, Canada, May 1, 2007 – Two Crane Payment Solutions (CPS) companies will jointly exhibit for the first time at Marketechnics, the Food Marketing Institute’s annual technology show. CashCode and Telequip Corporation will showcase the Payment Solutions group’s complementary bill validation and coin dispensing solutions for the food retailing market.

CPS was formed by Crane Merchandising Systems in 2006 to take advantage of the technological synergies between three of its companies, CashCode, Telequip, and National Rejectors, Inc. GmbH (NRI) and provide a single-source solution for clients in the food marketing, retail, gaming, and vending industries.

CashCode will present a full range of retail-focused unattended POS products at Marketechnics, including its FrontLoad and BackLoad validators and the breakthrough Bill-to-Bill Currency Management System. This fully-integrated system validates, recycles, and dispenses bank notes for change, optimizing cash management and reducing labor costs for food retailers’ self check-out operations.

Telequip will showcase its premier coin dispensing solutions for retailers, T-Flex and CoinXpress. T-Flex increases thru-put at check-out, reducing cash handling time by, on average, six seconds. CoinXpress is a compact and integrated hopper-based coin dispenser that requires less space inside self-service systems.

“CashCode and Telequip have complementary products and business philosophies, and we are delighted to be jointly exhibiting as part of the Crane Payment Solutions family,” said CashCode Global Marketing Manager, Denis Antunes. “Separately, our companies have long targeted the food and other retailing markets. Together, we can now offer food retailers a single-source solution for their self check-out and other payment requirements.”

About Crane Payment Solutions Crane Payment Solutions is a division of Crane Merchandising Systems, a global vending industry leader with multiple brands and business units across several continents. CPS companies CashCode, NRI, and Telequip work collaboratively to capitalize on the technological synergies available through each of the three businesses to engineer the payment system solutions of the future. Crane Payment Solutions Launches Currenza Recycler

Bridgeton, MO, March 19, 2007 – Crane Payment Solutions, a division of Crane Merchandising Systems, will launch Currenza® with advanced recycler technology at the NAMA Spring Expo in Las Vegas. Currenza combines cutting-edge technology from two Crane Payment Solutions companies—NRI’s industry-leading coin acceptor and CashCode’s bill validator and recycler technology—to offer a complete payment solution

The Currenza base model, with coin mech and bill acceptor, was released in October 2006. The new version—with the industry’s first 30-bill recycler—accepts $1 through $20 bills and pays back $1 or $5 notes. When field tested by vend operators nationwide, Currenza with recycler led to sales increases of 10-15%. “With Currenza, machines can accept higher denomination bills and provide more convenient forms of change to customers,” noted Crane Payment Solutions Vice President Chuck Reed. “Today’s vending customer carries $10’s and $20’s and doesn’t want to be loaded down with a pocket full of change. Operators are missing sales if they can’t accept and recycle higher denominations.”

James Vending was one of the operators to field test Currenza. “The Currenza recycler is amazing,” said Jess Risha,. “I am collecting hundreds of dollars in $10’s & $20’s at each service call. Multiple recyclers in a bank provide an incredible increase in sales and my customers are so much happier being able to use whatever bill denominations they choose. Bill recycling is a great addition to my business offering.” Reed said Currenza recycler testers also reduced cash flow float and eliminated dollar bill changers in their banks. “There is no need to tie up $600+ in float when you use recyclers,” observed Reed. “Your customers provide the float as the bill recyclers are self filling.”

Reed said Currenza offers several first-in-the-industry features. “The 30-note capacity will let many operators remove their change machines, which is a huge savings. The fastest bill validation—1.7 seconds—decreases transaction time, and the stylish, high-visibility blue LED’s increase merchandising of the machine, said Reed.

Currenza was designed in the industry-standard footprint for easy installation on existing machines. It is MDB compatible and enables simple, five-second configuration changes or firmware updates via Palm handheld or “BlueChip™” sim card. An LED display added to the back of the recycler lets route drivers know the contents of the recycler and add bills to a predetermined par level.

Currenza is backed by Crane Merchandising System’s field service and support operation. For more information contact 1-800-325-8812 ext: 3224.
